Multidensity Design

SalarFinder series is a multidensity design which is originated in Scandi countries. It has a long history of using it for Salar angling. The idea is to fish a flyline that sinks in a uniform slope with about 2'-3' differences end to end, for example, our popular SalarFinder45:13 deisgn, Intermediate + Sink 3 + Sink 6 (tip). That way the intermediate belly sinks below fastest surface current to slow down the speed of fly while sink3 and sink6 helps to keep the fly in the fish column but not going too deep to snag bottom on hang down. Therefore, depending on the speed of the current, angler changes the sink rate of the line to make sure the fly is in the strike zone. This is for Atlantic Salmon fishing.

.

SteelheadFinder series, a multidensity design, brings the multidensity design concept back home in our steelhead water. Steelhead is a different animal from Atlantic Salmon. It stays in the softer water. Therefore, we need to modify the original multidensity design concept to meet the steelhead behavior. Our approaches are two: Float + Intermediate for normal condition and Intermediate + Sink 3 for high water condition. The float + 10' Intermediate design allows angler to steer the speed of fly with the float section while intermediate sinks below the fastest surface current to slow down the fly speed. With help of 10' intermediate section, we don't need to use heavy sink tip anymore to get fly down to the strike zone. We like the format of either ST10-73 (7' Sink12 + 3' Sink3) or ST10-55 (5' Sink12 + 5' Sink3) will be enough for normal fishing condition. ST10-S12 (a t12) will fish well in high water. So far SteelheadFinder handles winter fly very well reported by varies anglers and staffs.

.

KingFinder series is much like the SteelheadFinder but in heavier densities. King Salmon stays in the water much like steelhead, sometimes, deeper in the holes. So, 35 (Sink3 + Sink5) and 57 (Sink5 and Sink7) will keep your fly longer in front of Salmon's face. We offer KingFinder in two length: COASTAL and 30

.

TroutSpey series has much properties of SteelheadFinder design. The Float + Intermediate format allows to cast big streamers for big trouts in Idaho, Wyoming and Montana. We offer both in single heanded and switch rods.
